Big Geppy has landed at Majura Park

02 November 2026

Things got a little heavier at Majura Park Shopping Centre this week, with the arrival of a very special four-tonne delivery.

“Big Geppy”, the custom-built smoker set to sit at the heart of Smoke Masters BBQ’s new Majura Park venue, has officially been craned into place.

Weighing in at four tonnes, Big Geppy is the second-largest reverse-flow smoker in Australia and one of the largest commercial smokers in the Southern Hemisphere.

The arrival of Big Geppy marks an exciting milestone as Smoke Masters prepares to open its doors at Majura Park.

Owned and operated by Canberra pitmaster Scotty Masters, Smoke Masters has grown from its beginnings in Scotty’s driveway to an award-winning barbecue destination, backed by a strong following throughout the Canberra region.

Now, that journey is continuing right here at Majura Park.

Big Geppy will take centre stage at the new venue, helping Smoke Masters serve up the signature low-and-slow barbecue experience it has become known for.

Once open, Smoke Masters will trade Wednesday to Sunday, serving its signature barbecue alongside American-style favourites.

The new venue will add another dining option to Majura Park’s growing food offering, welcoming local shoppers, workers and visitors to experience Smoke Masters BBQ for themselves.

Stay tuned for more details on the Smoke Masters opening.
